I believe that my thoughts, my dreams, the music I listen, the people around me and more have a huge influence on my photography. What ever I do, who ever I love leave an imprint on my photos. I've been dreaming a lot of Renaissance Art and Italy lately... Then I met Casey. And it all finally came together this morning.
I photographed Coel quite a few times now... but this time was special. Laurie was with us. We met at the Bay Hive in Mahone Bay, the morning light was going through those uge windows and even if the building was still under construction we found the perfect room for our session.
It is Christmas soon... this is a time for family and friends. Count your blessings.. this is one of mine. What a wonderful family to photograph. Thanks for letting me sharing. Brittany, Chris and Maverick have a wonderful Christmas!
Thanks to Lyssa, we have a new amazing prop at Oh! Sugar studio in Chester and it's a bath tub. I'm always open to new ideas. Actually I look for them all the time... but I have to say, I've been impressed with this one. Sometime you start something whithout exactly knowing where you're going... and like Christopher Columbus, you find a continent. lol Ok, my discovery might not be that big, but still feel uge for me. I didn't post a blog in a very long time... but I want to share with you some of the photographs of these 3 mothers. It's been so popular and I want so much to do this again and again... that I gave some thoughts to offer you maternity-newborn packages. Keep in mind that these packages are not only for the tub... but to any other ideas we can come with. Enjoy! Valerie
Wow! It's been forever I didn't post a blog. Promise, I'll keep up with you. A couple months ago I had this amazing shoot with Courtney. Already a mom, she's expecting now another baby. I really like these photos. Just wanted to share with you. Hope you enjoy. Thank you Courtney for letting me sharing. xx
I'm starting to work on Adam and Stephanie wedding photos... Oh! What a great couple!!! I'm sharing with you the begining of what I know will be a great editing.
Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to spend some time in Darmouth with two generous models. Thank you for your trust, I had an awesome day and I'm very proud of the result. So enjoy some spicy Art tonight ;)
I met Karen at the Mahone Bay Centre. There I was, not giving up on my dream of being able some day to draw a decent sketch. She was there as our life model. At the end of the session we connected. She knew my work and I thought she was my kind of people. So we left that day and I kept her in the back of my mind. A few weeks later during a meeting with Meg Craig at Skysail Brand, the idea of doing videos of my photography sessions to show women the transformation and the process of my work came. I got in contact with Justin and Tim at Picnic Studio, met them and we set up a date! It's exactly at that moment that I got nervous. Wow! This thing will really happen. My first thought was: OMG what I'm gonna do! But the question is more, what I did? I started to do some decoration. Instead of planning my photoshoot, I got obsess with my office and studio decoration. I started shopping for curtons, frames, mirrors. I bought a new makeup station and a makeup chair. Oufff... Oh it looks nice, but didn't have no idea what I will do for that shoot. Oh... and no model. During a brainstorming meeting with Oh Sugar number 2, the amazing Kandee, I sudenly thought of Karen. Few messages and she was up for it. She was perfect, I knew I will bring her out of her comfort zone, but that was the point. I wanted that video to be real, a real example of how things work in here. She is a natural beauty, real without bling or fake. A complete white canvas for me. I don't make people beautiful, people are beautiful. All different, all beautiful. I play dress up. This is what I do. I'm a 4 years old playing with her mom's makeup and clothes. Like a 4 years old, I don't wear makeup, my costumes are way more cooler then my own clothes. I don't make people look good, we are just playing together. That's my job. Having fun and making sure you're having fun too. So, that's what we did. Karen, Kandee and I were just playing, trying different things during the guys were filming. We had a good time and a lot of silly things were said and done. We're gonna give some time to the boys to put that video all together... meanwhile, I wanted to share with you a few photos we did that day. Karen, thank you. You nailed that thing. Finally, I never prepared for that shoot. As real 4 years old, we just used our imagination that morning.
Here's where you can read about my latest adventures, see photos from recent shoots, and have a peek into a day in the life of a photographer!
