Oh! Sugar, by Valerie Leduc photography is sharing the front page of the South Shore Breaker this morning with Gillian & Brandon. I had to do a post about it. First, I read the article online and then I ran to my door to see the actual newspaper. Call me old-fashioned if you want to, but it's only then that I fully realized that my pictures were there, right on the front of the paper, printed in 46 000 copies, sent to every house along the south shore... We use the web every day, posting pictures of our work on Facebook or on our websites, but there is nothing like the feeling of seeing your work in print. When you do an artistic profession, most of the time you don't really know how your work will be received by others. You do it just because you love it and you cross your fingers that it might pay the bills for another month. I'm pleased that Katie Ingram choose to write her article mainly about self-confidence. I started to do that kind of photography to show that every woman is beautiful. That was, and still is, my way to turn my back on all of the unrealistic portrayals of women that magazines and publicity shows us. So, this is my way to change the world: I recycle and compost, I raise independent and strong girls, and I do boudoir photography! Cheers to you Gillian, and all of these women who came to see us for a little bit of fun and self-esteem!!!
Some of the photos from our last Boudoir photo event near Bridgewater, NS! We had such a great time at John's beach house... Let me share with you few photos done that day. More lifestyle, more boudoir,.. very soft and gentle. A different style for each personality. When I take a picture of someone, my challenge is to find in few minutes who they are and find the perfect angle and style making them shinning. I just love it!
Let me introduce you to Amanda, my make up artist. Whatever I ask her.. she can do it! With her, imagination has no limits! What a talented person. We spent an afternoon together at my studio near Bridgewater working on this photoshoot. We did all this with two babies under 1 and a half crawling everywhere. You can't see it, but behind Amanda, somewhere in the woods, my daughter was there exploring. Sometimes, I had to move a bit to make sure her pretty face was not in the frame. One hour to do her make up and we spent maybe 15 to 20 minutes taking photos... couldn't spend more time, the kids where everywhere, we got bite by the mosquitos and the sun was going down... Oh well! Things looks easier sometimes when you just look at the picture.. and it's a good thing. These pictures are creative and she did an amazing job with the make up as usual. All this to say, if you have any ideas, feel free to share it with us. Let us make your Oh! Sugar dream a reality!
You can reach Amanda Publicover anytime for your wedding or any other occasion.
